In the fall of 2025, I had the privilege of joining a photography workshop in Italy, led by internationally renowned photographer Damien Lovegrove. What began as a week of learning and exploration quickly became a turning point in my own artistic journey.
We photographed in extraordinary places - historic Masserias in Basilicata near Matera, including Masseria Moliterni, Frederico’s Masseria, Masseria Marinella, and abandoned farmhouses that seemed to hold centuries of untold stories within their walls.
Working with the incredibly talented models Susanna Fusari and Morgana Balzarotti, I discovered new ways to blend light, environment, and emotion - inspired to push beyond the familiar and give my work a new twist — more expressionistic, more narrative, and infused with both sensuality and mystery.
Two new galleries were born from this experience:
[Allure] – Soul in Shadows – exploring intimacy, mood, and the magnetic pull of light and shadow, featuring Susanna Fusari.
[Vestige] – Portraits Among Ruins and Memory – storytelling portraits set against the haunting beauty of Basilicata’s abandoned farmhouses, featuring both Susanna Fusari and Morgana Balzarotti.
These collections are more than images. They are my reflections on what it means to see — not only the person in front of me, but also the spirit of the place, the history in the walls, and the fleeting spark of light that makes a portrait timeless.
This workshop reminded me that every soul, every story, and every location leaves a trace - and it is in these traces that photography finds its magic.
